About Underwood Heating & Air Conditioning
Underwood Heating & Air Conditioning is a locally owned HVAC company based in Phenix City, Alabama, proudly serving East Alabama's Russell, Lee, and Chambers counties. Founded by Joseph Underwood, an EPA-certified HVAC technician (AL #24178) with over 20 years of hands-on experience in the East Alabama market, our company was built on a simple promise: honest diagnostics, transparent pricing, and reliable service.
We specialize in heating and air conditioning installation, repair, and maintenance for both residential and commercial properties. Our services include furnace and AC installation, heat pump repair, indoor air quality solutions such as whole-house air cleaners, dehumidifiers, and duct cleaning, as well as thermostat service and preventative maintenance plans.
What sets us apart is our root-cause diagnostic approach. Rather than guessing, we verify airflow, electrical performance, controls, and system operating conditions before recommending any repairs. We clearly explain the problem, present your options, and let you decide — no pressure, no upselling.
We offer 24/7 emergency HVAC service with same-day availability throughout Phenix City, Auburn, Opelika, Smiths Station, and 26 surrounding communities. Our team services all major brands including Goodman, Lennox, Ruud, Trane, and Carrier.
With a 4.9-star Google rating from over 60 reviews, our customers consistently praise our quick response times, fair pricing, and honest workmanship. We live and work in the communities we serve, and we treat every home like our own.
