We offer Richmond addiction treatment and sober living facilities for recovering individuals who want to continue their programming beyond their initial stay at McShin, and we work with renowned physicians for detox for those with severe substance use disorders. The McShin Foundation was founded by husband and wife duo John Shinholser and Carol Mcdaid to fill a void they saw in the care of Richmonders seeking recovery. Our foundation has grown to become Virginia's leading full-service Recovery Community Organization (RCO). Widely recognized as an innovative, compassionate leader in our field of work, we provide programs based on the social model of recovery including a 28-day Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), sober living housing that helps people learn to live without drugs and alcohol, drug detox, professional credentialing services, and are accredited by the Council of Accreditation of Peer Recovery Support Services (CAPRSS).
